SkyDot Privacy Policy.

How SkyDot, a flight-tracking travel companion app published by Evolvera Technologies, collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated: July 11, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how SkyDot(“the app”, “we”, “us”), a flight-tracking travel companion app for Android and iOS, handles your information. SkyDot is published and operated by Evolvera Technologies, the data controller responsible for your personal data under this policy.

SkyDot shows your flight live on a map, logs your trips, and works offline in Airplane Mode. This policy covers the data the app collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. By using SkyDot, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what the app needs to work. The table below groups data by the service that handles it and whether it leaves your device; the sections that follow add detail.

DataWhy we collect it & where it goes
Device location (coordinates, accuracy, altitude)Powers the live flight map. Processed on-device only — it is never sent to our servers and works offline in Airplane Mode.
Account info (email, name, profile photo, user ID)Collected via Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple through Firebase Authentication, so you can sign in and sync your flight history. Sent to Google.
Flight history & settingsYour logged trips and preferences. Stored locally on your device by default; synced to the cloud (Firebase) only for signed-in paid users.
Purchase & subscription dataPurchase history, subscription status, an anonymous user ID, and IP-derived country. Handled by RevenueCat with the Apple App Store / Google Play to manage your subscription or lifetime purchase.
Advertising ID & ad interactionsUsed by Google AdMob to serve ads on the free tier. Includes device info and IP. Sent to Google.
Crash & diagnostic dataCrash logs, device model, and OS version via Firebase Crashlytics, so we can fix crashes. Sent to Google.

3. Location data — stays on your device

SkyDot uses your device’s location — coordinates, accuracy, and altitude — to power its core feature: showing your live position on the flight map. This is processed entirely on your device. Your location is never sent to our servers, never used for advertising, and never sold. Because nothing needs to leave your device, the live map keeps working fully offline in Airplane Mode.

SkyDot requests location access while you actively use the app and in the background. Background location is used to detect when your flight lands so the app can post an arrival notification. This too is handled on-device — it is not sent to our servers. You can grant, restrict (for example, to “While Using”), or deny location at any time in your device settings. If you deny it, the live-map position and arrival-notification features will not function, but the rest of the app remains usable.

4. Account & sign-in (Google and Apple)

Signing in is handled through Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple, using Firebase Authentication (a Google service). When you sign in, we receive your email address, name, profile photo, and a user ID, along with an authentication token. With Sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email, in which case we receive an Apple private relay address instead of your real one.

We use this to identify your account and to sync your flight history across your devices. You can use core flight-tracking features without signing in; an account is required only for cloud sync of your flight history.

5. Cloud sync of flight history (paid tiers)

By default, your flight history and settings are stored locally on your device and never leave it. For signed-in users on a paid tier, your flight history is stored in Firebase (a Google cloud database) and tied to your account, so it syncs across devices and is preserved if you reinstall the app.

You can request deletion of your synced flight history at any time — see Your rights.

6. Advertising (free tier)

The free tier of SkyDot is ad-supported and uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob collects a device advertising identifier, device information, IP address, and ad-interaction data (such as ads shown and tapped) to serve and measure ads.

On iOS, SkyDot shows Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking for personalized ads. If you decline, you will see non-personalized adsinstead. You can also reset or limit ad personalization through your device’s advertising settings. Subscribing to a paid tier removes ads entirely. AdMob’s use of data is governed by Google’s advertising policies.

7. Purchases & subscriptions

SkyDot offers subscriptions and one-time purchases. Payments are processed entirely by the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). We do not receive or store your card details.

We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements. RevenueCat receives your purchase history, subscription status, an anonymous user ID, and your country (derived from your IP address) so we can unlock and maintain the features you paid for. Refunds and billing are governed by the store you purchased through and its policies.

8. Permissions we request

SkyDot asks for these permissions, each for a specific purpose:

  • Location (While Using + Background)— to show your plane’s live position and to detect landing so the app can post an arrival notification. Processed on-device; see Location data.
  • Tracking (iOS App Tracking Transparency) — optional. Used only to show more relevant ads on the free tier. Declining means you still get ads, just non-personalized ones.

9. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • Show your live flight position on the map (on-device).
  • Detect when your flight lands and post an arrival notification (on-device).
  • Let you sign in and sync your flight history across devices.
  • Provide, maintain, and unlock paid features.
  • Serve and measure ads on the free tier (via AdMob).
  • Diagnose crashes and keep the app secure and stable.
  • Respond to your support requests and legal obligations.

11. Third parties we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app:

These providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies, and may store data on servers outside your country.

12. Data retention

We keep your account information and synced flight history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete the associated account data and synced flight history from Firebase, except where we are required to retain limited records (for example, purchase records) to meet legal or tax obligations.

Location data is used in real time on your device to render the map and is not retained on our servers as a location history. On-device data — including your local flight history and settings — is removed when you uninstall the app.

13. Your rights & deleting your account

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and (for EEA/UK users) to object to or restrict processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To delete your account and synced cloud data, you can either:

  • Use the in-app option: Settings → Account → Delete Account, which wipes your account and synced flight history from Firebase; or
  • Email us at evolvera.technologies@gmail.com with the subject “SkyDot account deletion” and we will delete your account and synced data, typically within 30 days.

Local data on your device is cleared when you uninstall the app. To exercise any other right, contact us at the email above. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

14. Children's privacy

SkyDot is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Data security

We rely on Google’s Firebase infrastructure, which encrypts data in transit and at rest, and we limit access to your data to what is necessary to operate the app. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

16. International data transfers

Because we use Google, Apple, and RevenueCat cloud services, your data may be processed and stored on servers located in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

17. Regulatory compliance

This policy is designed to support our disclosures under the EU/UK GDPR, the Google Play Data Safety section, and Apple App Privacy(“privacy nutrition”) labels. The data types, purposes, and sharing described here reflect what we declare in those forms.

18. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of SkyDot after an update means you accept the revised policy.
