Common questions
Does Wispr Flow work offline?
Dictation does not. It is processed server-side, so no connection means no text. Their notetaker feature does run on the device. Blurt runs entirely locally, which is why it still works on a flight or a bad hotel connection.
Is Blurt as accurate as a cloud model?
For dictation, close enough that most people cannot pick which produced a sentence. Blurt runs Whisper large-v3-turbo, not a cut-down mobile model, and you can push it to the 1.6 GB full precision build if you want the ceiling. Cloud services win on very long context reasoning, not on typing what you just said.
I need Windows or my phone. What then?
Then Flow is the practical answer and Blurt is not. Blurt is Apple Silicon only. We would rather tell you that here than have you download a DMG that will not open on your work laptop.
Does Blurt send anything at all?
